It does not matter whether you like the first episode of coke studio or not you wait for other episodes every Saturday to know what they have to serve you. We waited for a week and here we have our second episode of coke studio with renowned singers like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Meesha Shafi, Javed Bashir, Ali Azmat, Quratulain Baloch, Haroon Shahid (member of band SYMT). A new addition this season is Momina Mustehsan.

Man Kunto Maula” a kalam of Ameer Khusro along with a part by Sabir Zafir is sung by Javed Bashir and Ali Azmat. Javed Bashir makes you feel the song and it surely leave an impact the same way the actual kalam would. The part of Ali Azmat is in his style, the rock style. It’s a bit difficult to combine two different genres and it may have caused the song not to become a tour de force. Javed Bashir gave his best and you will want to hear his part again and again but we are not sure about Ali Azmat’s part.

Baliye (Laung Gawacha)” is another collaboration song; Quratlain Baloch and Haroon Shahid were part of this song. We know that “Baby ko Bass pasand hai” and these songs serve this purpose. With high beat and addition of laung gawacha of Mussarat Nazir works well. This song can make it to people’s playlist.

Bholay Bhalay” starts with Shani Arshad’s cameo on vocoder and then Meesha Shafi carries this song. This song is quirky one but is fun to listen. This song reminds us of the song Eva in Moor maybe because the singer is same. The composition and lyrics grabs attention and you may listen to it more than once.

Everything about the song Afreen Afreen (the original track) the lyrics, the composition and the voice of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan are on another level. Coke studio decided to reform the song from Qawwali to an unplugged track. The composition is done by Faakhir Mehmood and delivered by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan. If we keep the original track out of our mind and listen to this one it’s good and you will like it but the moment you start comparing it to the one which was sung by a legend you definitely not feel the same. This song has got equal amount of criticism and appreciation. We can’t really comment on Momina’s part because she was not given a lot to sing (but her beautiful smile definitely got attention). This song has 2 Million views on YouTube in just 4 days.
