One of the biggest nightmare of all time is when you are just out of your house, and one of those pokey neighborhood Aunties cross your way like a black cat who might not have to do anything with your luck but she surely got a lot of curiosities for your life hidden behind the love she shows. It’s not that she is a bad person or something but she got more serious concerns for you than for your ownself and bombards you with a bunch of questions whenever she meets you, outside your home, at an event or even in the middle of the driveway. She will find you and she will kill you with her questions.
Its the first thing any neighborhood auntie will ask you. “Beta what happened to your skin, acha bhla chitta rang khrab krlia hai.” She will tell you about some branded whitening cream and will also give you a list of desi totkss to brighten up your skin tone.
She is more concerned about that little fat that you have put on like its not worrying your already. “Kuriye walk pe ya gym jum jaya kr.” And if your are blessed among the skinny ones, she will still guide you to have a proper food and say things like “Kuch khati peeti nai ho kia?”
And the most important of all. “Beta shadi kb krva rhi ho”, “Shadi ki umer hogyi hai phr larki ki!!”. Rather than asking anything about your studies or your health, the first concern she has is of your marriage because she cares for you and can’t see you getting old alone whether you might just be in your twenties.
Even if you had forgotten about welcome party event you attended at your university last week and came home late at night, the aunty will surely remind you, “Beta us din raat ko 10 bje ghr ayi, khair thi na?”
And one of the most common ones is about your studies or job. “Beta tmhari degree khtm nai hui kia abhi tk?”, as if you are delaying your degree on purpose. Similarly by asking “oh job nai mili kia abhi tk?”, and you sadly nod your head.
Newly wedded Girl
And that’s when they come to visit your home or even if you get caught by the aunty in your new neighbourhood at your husband’s place. These auntie’s wont spare you by asking the question like “Khushkhabri kab anay wali hai” even if it’s just a day since you married.
